Map of routes

The Ciclovia dei Parchi della Calabria (Calabria Parks Cycle Route) is an Apennine itinerary consisting of a combination of low-carriageway roads, tracks and cycle paths. The itinerary, which starts in Laino Borgo and arrives in Reggio Calabria, has a total length of 545 km; it crosses the Pollino and Sila National Parks, the Serre Regional Natural Park and the Aspromonte National Park.

The overall positive height difference is 10,240 m while the negative height difference is 10,510 m; the highest altitude reached is 1,565 m, which is reached at km 208, in the Sila Park near Lake Arvo, while the lowest point is at the landing point in Reggio Calabria, at sea level.

The trip is structured in 12 stages, covering 31 to 58 km each, with three different levels of difficulty, easy, intermediate and difficult, the most challenging due to the Apennine roughness.

In addition to the main route, the Ciclovia also offers a variant that makes it possible to reach Lake Angitola, in the Serre Park, in stage 9, which connects Girifalco to Serra San Bruno. The Ciclovia can be travelled in its entirety from spring to autumn, understanding that those who wish to travel in the winter months are advised to check the weather conditions and the possible presence of snow.

The entire route is equipped with identification signs and signposts, including signs warning cyclists and safety distances.
