Pollino National Park

From Laino Borgo (278 m), the rafting village on the Lao river, you suddenly ascend towards Mormanno (840 m), a centre founded in the Longobard era; from here you continue in the direction of the Campotenese Plain to reach Morano Calabro (620 m), the 'crib of the Pollino'. [33.2 Km]

From Morano (640 m) the Ciclovia reaches Castrovillari and then passes through the Arbëreshe villages of San Basile, Saracena, Firmo, Lungro, and Acquaformosa (785 m) and finally arrives at the fortified village of San Donato di Ninea (658 m). [55.6 Km]

A hilly route that starts from San Donato di Ninea and descends to Ferramonti di Tarsia (60 m), site of the Concentration Camp and the Museum of Memory, and then reaches ancient Bisignano (304 m). [58.6 Km]

From Bisignano (304 m), climb in the direction of Acri (688 m), the gateway to the Sila Greca, and continue up to 1262 m before descending to the CEA of Cupone, on Lake Cecita (1164 m). [44.4 km]

High-altitude route that starts at Lake Cecita (1164 m), touches Campo San Lorenzo and Croce di Magara, with the Giants of Sila, and reaches the tourist village of Silvano Mansio, climbing further up to 1565 m and then descending towards Lorica (1290). [40.4 Km]

From Lorica, the Ciclovia climbs towards Rovale and after several ups and downs lands on Lake Ampollino, which it skirts, touching on the villages of Baffa and Palumbo. After passing the Spineto crossroads, it climbs to 1435 m and then descends to Villaggio Racise (1254 m) and from here climbs to Villaggio Mancuso, at 1290 m (56 km).

From Villaggio Mancuso (1304 m) the route descends rapidly towards Albi (710 m) and from here reaches the historic centre of Taverna (521 m), crosses Sorbo S.. Basile, Fossato Serralta, Gimigliano and arrives in Tiriolo (634 m), the village of the two seas. [55.7 Km]

From Tiriolo (634 m), the route descends towards Settingiano and the Gola di Marcellinara (221 m), the Isthmus of Italy, and from here it continues towards Sarrottino, lapping the Corace river (70 m); it then climbs up towards Caraffa di Catanzaro (358 m) and reaches Grifalco (446 m), the gateway to the Calabrian Serre. [31 Km]

The route starts in Girifalco and climbs immediately to Monte Covello (888 m), crosses the Fossa del Lupo Pass and descends towards Cenadi and San Vito sullo Jonio (404 m); it then touches on Chiaravalle (545 m) and then Torre di Ruggiero (590 m), continuing towards Simbario and Spadola (770 m) before arriving in the historic centre of Serra San Bruno (798 m). [46 Km]

After reaching the Fossa del Lupo Pass (878 m) from Girifalco, the Ciclovia takes the Variante in the direction of Polia (400 m), Monterosso Calabro (310 m) and Lake Angitola (57 m), and then climbs up towards S. Nicola da Crissa (518 m) and Torre di Ruggiero (590 m). [56 Km]

From Serra San Bruno (798 m) one crosses 1000 m to reach Mongiana (633 m), the village of the Royal Bourbon Ironworks; from here one proceeds towards Fabrizia (963 m), crosses the Limina Pass (822 m) and reaches Canolo (913 m) on the 'Aspromonte Dolomites'. [56 Km]

Having reached the Mercante Pass (942 m) from Canolo, the route runs over the Zomaro and the Piani dello Zilastro (1061 m) and then climbs in altitude towards Zervò; it crosses the ridge over the Valle delle grandi pietre (1250 m) and arrives at Gambarie d'Aspromonte (1320 m). [56.8 Km]

From Gambarie (1324 m), the route climbs slightly to 1366 m and then descends in the direction of Ortì (650 m) and the Monastery of the Visitazione with a breathtaking view of the city of Reggio Calabria, which the cycle route quickly reaches along the Falcomatà seafront. [31.8 Km]
